I'll list the things I picked up as the song progresses! May be easier that way :P

- I'd change the intro synth, too much concentration on the lower end (I made that mistake with mizule)

- Definitely lower the volume of that bassline for sure! My ears nearly exploded

- I like the mysterious sound of the vocals in the background, adds some nice ambiance!

- The strings are nice too (If they are strings of course)

- Seriously lower that bass D:

Overall I think you've definitely improved the way you master your songs, yet the balance of this one still needs a little tweaking. I'd take the advice that BlueOceans gave me on mizule - Concentrate on melody to some degree! I know that this song is a completely different genre, but it would be nice to see a unique style that blends those awesome Wayv style melodies with sick basslines! Something to think about at least.

Meanwhile, regarding the song genre...

It's definitely chill, but has some elements of liquid dubstep. Yet I can't help but compare these sounds to that of electro or even complextro to be more precise! Maybe it's time that you had a genre of your own, I'm thinking "Chillextro" :D

Sounds like the title for the next Wayv classic ;) Keep on developing your style and I'm sure that you'll find a middle ground that will be your go-to style!

I'm eagerly awaiting your next song!

Wayv responds:

I've lowered the bass volume now. I really like that low freq intro, but maybe that's my speakers lying to me about how low it is. I almost used the exact intro progression of Alex Clare's "Too Close," and the strings/pad kinda reminded me of the ones he used. : P
Thanks for all the tips! They are being taken into account! :D

Brilliant song, I loved every moment of it. Maybe a bit too repetitive, but brilliant all the same.

I don't know what it is about this song, but I have to say it sounds too much like the typical generic dance material you get from most people. I think that if you focused on working to create a piece that really gets you moving, you'll find that most other people will like it too.

As for a critique on the mastering, It sounds as if i'm wearing cotton earbuds, and that the synths in particular have the potential to sounds much sharper and less muffled.

The kick also gets lost in the chorus somewhat, losing it's punch.

In summation, I do think that your style is fun and relaxed, but maybe a bit too generic for my ears.

Everratic responds:

Thankyou for the review!. I agree with what you said. One thing that is also generic about my songs is the bass pattern. The reason why I always keep the same bass pattern is because I don't want the bass to play at the same time as the kick. The headphones I use are not good. My good headphones broke, so sorry about the synths not sounding the way they should. I don't know what I can do about that until I get new headphones.

BlueOceans is totally right, a subtle piano would fit in real nice with that beginning synth. I think I'm gonna wait for the complete song before passing any judgements, since a lot can change from a work in progress when it finally get's finished.

Sounds like it's going well so far, I'll be sure to review when you finish this baby!

D-Chain responds:

haha thanks man!
im sure youll find your way to the song when its finished.
for now, im totally out of idea's and need to refuel!
in other words; its probably gonna take some time for any update!

This song is more addictive than crack cocaine. (I don't condone drug abuse NG)

D-Chain responds:

HAHAHAHA you sir are hilarious!
thanks for the words hahaha

This song makes me feel attractive when I listen to it.

That is all.

D-Chain responds:

and the song feels attractive to you.
maybe you 2 should date some time soon..

It's good to be listening to your music again! Your mastering techniques are like a breath of fresh air in a polluted world, which should put into perspective how good it is!

The bass, treble and highs are well engineered.

The transitions are well integrated, speak well for the overall direction of the song and fit in perfectly with the style you've gone for!

All i'm waiting for now is the full version!

D-Chain responds:

bah the words are kind but really..
anything is possible for anyone. and thats the truth!

as long as you push yourself and have lots of fun!
specially the last part. if its no fun youll have a hard time keeping it together..

ill just keep focusing on getting better.
its a long way to the top you know.. yes, it still is!

as much as you like to hear a full version, i cant promise you anything.
i have no plans for this project, maybe the future brings more.
and if it does bring me what i seek im fully prepared!

The only reason i'm not giving 5 stars is because I think you have so much potential with this loop! Build on this and make it a full song, then you'll have my 5 stars sir! ;D

Ignore that annoying paragraph if you wish, since I do have a soft spot for the reese bass. Although the mastering still leaves a lot to be desired, I know this is merely an experimentation, and so i'll let you off!

You've come a long way since I last listened to your music!

Amazing job, really well done! :D

5/5

Wayv responds:

Thanks! Been doing a little, but mostly practicing and saving up for some quality equipment. Then I'll really be in business! xD

An epic mix, could easily mix with the big guns!

Top marks man.

Adjeye responds:

Thankyou :)

I'm a microscopic fish in a humungous, titanic sized ocean. Please listen to my music with open ears and provide whatever feedback you can, every review helps! Be sure to add me to your favorites if you like what you hear, there's more on it's way!
